Kate is a hard-working volunteer and marketing professional who has served her community for over a decade.

In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking and boating, traveling, mushroom hunting, live music, and spending time with friends, her husband, Ryan, and their pets.
Kate grew up in rural Madrid, Iowa near the Des Moines River. She enjoyed camping and the outdoors, which lead to her earning a double major in journalism and environmental science from Iowa State University.
While serving with AmeriCorps through the Iowa DNR, she received the Governor's Volunteer Award for her leadership in sandbagging efforts during the Iowa Floods of 2008. She works full time as an Advertising Account Manager at Boyd Gaming in Dubuque.
In 2009, she and her husband, Ryan, followed their careers to Dubuque, and quickly fell in love with the Masterpiece on the Mississippi.
